Becki Newton
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Becki Newton grew up within Guilford, Connecticut. Her parents are of English as well as Czech origin. She began her career in theaters around the area. in European History. at Penn, Newton was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Newton graduated from Penn University in the year 2006, moved in New York City where she got TV roles for organizations like Olive Garden. Newton appeared as Amanda Tanen from 2006-2010 in the comedy drama series Ugly Betty. Newton hosted the Official Ugly Betty radio show along with co-star Michael Urie. Newton also starred in ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours series of webisodes. Ugly Betty, which had several successful seasons at the time it was canceled in the year 2010. This allowed the series to have a final season. Newton was the first to make the New York City Center encores debut in 2009. Jerry Zaks directed the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy. Her spouse Chris Diamantopoulos performed with her as Molly Gray. Newton played a prominent role in Love Bites, a television show. Cindy Chupack was the executive producer for this romantic comedy. Cindy Chupack worked with Sex and the City. NBC announced the continuation of the show in the month of May 2010.However the show was cancelled due to Newton announcing her pregnancy, co-star Jordana Spiro was bound by a contract to keep her existing show My Boys (which later was later canceled) and Chupack's desire to end the series, Love Bites was pushed back to midseason.
